NEAR JAY PEAK
Northbound Vermont is located in Lowell, about 20 minutes from Jay Peak Resort. If you're planning a ski trip and want to bring your dog, staying in a nearby private cabin is a great alternative to resort lodging. You can review the official Jay Peak Resort pet policies before your visit. One of the best parts of bringing your dog to Northbound is having space to enjoy the outdoors together. There's room around the cabin for your dog to stretch their legs, sniff around, and enjoy the fresh Vermont air without the hustle and bustle of a hotel. When it's time to head inside, there's plenty of room to settle in. With a cozy wood stove, comfortable living spaces, and views of the surrounding woods, it's a place where everyone can feel at home. Whether you're spending the day exploring Northern Vermont or just enjoying a quiet afternoon at the cabin, sometimes the best part of a getaway is having your dog there with you.
THE CABIN
We love bringing our dog with us everywhere we go and we know you do too. Instead of paying to put mans best friend in a kennel we welcome you to have your BFF stay with you at Northbound. We don't want anyone to have separation anxiety, two legs or four. Dogs are part of the family, they should be treated like it.

OUTDOORS
From warm-weather swims to scenic outdoor exploring, Northern Vermont offers plenty of ways to enjoy the outdoors with your dog. Northbound is a quiet, wooded base for those days.
A summer hike with our dogs.
Our cabin is short drive from belvidere fire tower a great hike to panormaic view of the northeast kingdom. You can also drive down rt 58 hazen notch and catch the long trail, Americas oldest long distance hiking trail. Back roads and mountain views define this corner of Vermont, and many travelers plan their days around time on the trail with their dogs. Jay Peak Resort's policies say that outside ski season, leashed pets are welcome on its grounds and hiking trails, and dogs may be walked along the resort's roads on a leash.
Warm days are made for water, and a swim is often the highlight of a summer trip with a dog. Our not so hidden swimming spot for our dog is 2 minutes down the road at a canoe drop off right off rt 100. Great for when you don't want to hike and cool down. Also further up about 15 minutes you can stop by Jay Branch Gorge and grab a pizza at hoagies right after. Don't forget to stop and get some fresh eggs from the amish on the way home!

WHY DOGS LOVE IT
Bringing your dog along beats leaving them behind. Northbound is a private cabin on 12 acres of woods and open land, so the days are quiet and the air is fresh.
After a day outdoors there is a cozy place to come back to: a living area warmed by a wood stove, a deck for slow evenings and a fire pit outside.
Happiest on the road to somewhere new.

WINTER
Winter is a beautiful time to visit the Northeast Kingdom, and a cabin warmed by a wood stove is a cozy place to return to. Jay Peak Resort is right down the road, and the region offers winter outdoor adventures for travelers exploring Northern Vermont with their dogs.
During ski season the resort does not allow pets on snow surfaces such as alpine ski trails or inside resort buildings. Its Nordic Center limits dogs to trails designated for skijoring, with a skijoring harness. Plan ski days with that in mind.
Our house rules require an AWD or 4WD vehicle with appropriate winter tires during winter months. Check road conditions before you travel.
